Rotary piston pumps, also called ROOTS, do not contain lubricants, with an open shaft. They are often installed as a second stage at low pressures within 10 mbar(a) [29.6 inHg V]. The RPP series of vacuum pumps is made of two coupled rotors that rotate almost without gaps, providing air compression without contact between parts. The rotors are synchronized, can rotate at high speed.
